Looking up from the port side, the stern shows a nice balance between the structure and the decorations which, although they are numerous, do not seem to overload the whole. The light structure of the frames bearing such a considerable weight, as well as the strong rake of the sternpost are surprising. The general shape of the stern is naturally reminiscent of that of galleys.(1)
